You only have to look at Memphis' nicknames (the 'Cradle of the Blues' and the 'Birthplace
of Rock & Roll') to know how much the city's favourite son means to Memphis. Elvis
was born near, then lived and died in Memphis, and his mansion Graceland is something
of a mecca to music fans as a whole, never mind Elvis fans themselves. Elvis' home
of 20 years was opened to the public a few years after his death, and it makes for
a moving tour that ends appropriately enough at The King's resting place, now regarded
understandably as a shrine by most visitors. Sun Studios is where Elvis made his
very first recording, but a quick look at the full roster reveals the extent of local
